Public review draft of the Timber Cove County Water District Local Hazard Mitigation Plan
Dear Stakeholders and Community Partners,
The public review draft of the Timber Cove County Water District Local Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for review and comment.
This plan identifies the natural hazards that pose the greatest risk to the district’s water infrastructure and lays out actions to reduce that risk over the next five years. Your input helps make sure the plan reflects real conditions on the ground.
The draft is available at the link below. Comments can be submitted to the district’s consultant, Emily.Elliott@bkf.com.
A few things worth knowing before you dig in:
- Public Workshop #1 was held May 17, 2025 and addressed hazard identification.
- Public Workshop #2 was held March 20, 2026 and addressed District vulnerabilities and mitigation actions.
- Comments were received during both workshops and have been incorporated into this public review draft. Most notably, the effects of severe storms was elevated in the LHMP due to comments received.
If you have questions about the plan or the review process, reach out to Emily Elliott at Emily.Elliott@bkf.com.
Thank you for taking the time to review this. Plans like this only work when the people who know the system best weigh in.
